Shockwave Therapy: The Next Generation of Healing
6 CEUs for Chiropractors, NJ Physical Therapists and NJ Physical Therapy Assistants *
This comprehensive six-hour course provides clinicians with a strong foundation in shockwave therapy. The program begins with an overview of the history, physics, and biological mechanisms underlying extracorporeal shockwave therapy, including cellular signaling, angiogenesis, and pain modulation. Participants will learn about focused and radial shockwave technologies while reviewing contraindications, safety precautions, and informed consent procedures. The course will explore evidence-based clinical applications, reviewing the latest research, guidelines, and success rates for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, lateral epicondylitis, and rotator cuff tendinopathy, along with emerging uses in bone healing, neuropathic pain, and wound care.
Participants will also gain practical experience in treatment setup, device operation, and parameter selection for both acute and chronic conditions. Through live demonstrations and supervised practice, participants will refine their technique on key anatomical regions while learning to troubleshoot and optimize outcomes. The course will also cover advanced case studies and the integration of ESWT into multidisciplinary practice models, including rehabilitation, regenerative medicine, nutrition and orthopedics. By course completion, attendees will have gained an evidence-based understanding of shockwave therapy and developed the clinical competence to apply it safely and effectively within their scope of practice.
