Course Description
This course is intended to provide the Electrical Licensee / Business Permit Holder ways to describe and assign the
the essential definitions to the other NEC requirements. Also letting the participant identify possible ways to
better guide themselves through to core Articles and sections.
Objectives
The Electrical participant will develop possible ways to implement a Tree method to assign the definitions to its
applicable system, devices or equipment.
The Electrical participant shall review some of the key wording within the definitions; the “telling” or action words.
The Electrical participant will be able to better describe to their workers or customer base to assist them
for learning purposes and making all understand the what, why and how.
Course Outlines
• Power Point examples through the computer for Zooming or in Person classes
• Tree method to be demonstrated
• Highlighting of the defining and action words in each of the definitions.
Instructor
Shawn Gianella is a former multi tradesman who owned his service and contracting business for close to 3
Decades. He was one of the youngest Electrical Inspectors in the State at the time. He started teaching in the 80’s
and 90’s part time in public and private VoTechs. He emphasized the proper training of new workers and
apprentices as a consultant for a trade publication in the early 90’s. He instructs with old timer solid methods in
keeping one’s mind open and not just as someone writing on how to improve business that never spent a day in the
