Part 1: Supervision Under the NJAC 13:31- 3.4
Course Description
This course is intended to provide the Electrical Licensee / Business Permit Holder guidelines to better identify with this Admin Code section. Placing emphasis on the Electrical requirements to follow up and inspect their workers . Examples of doing it right the first time when supervision is put into effect. Better troubleshooting skills for service calls can be achieved when the Electrical participants’ employees are properly supervised in a timely fashion. The goal is to put in place the Electrical participant’s required supervision or have the participant’s qualifying Supervisory staff overlook all the work.
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the Electrical participant will be able to identify some of the key elements in the
the level of competence for each employee..
The Electrical participant will be able to better describe the training improvements needed by all of his employees. .
The Electrical participant will have their employees perform more efficiently when installing systems and equipment
properly when explained and taught.
Part 2: Workmanlike Article 110.12
Course Description
This course is intended to provide the Electrical Licensee / Business Permit Holder guidelines to better identify with this often-overlooked Article in the NEC. Placing emphasis on the Electrical skilled trade and a well-executed workday. Examples of sloppiness verse professional execution of the workday that their customers might observe. Workmanlike examples to be shown by photos of close quarters work with others. Workmanlike examples of physical tasks shown or demonstrated to other less experienced employees. The goal is to further the Electrical participants’ professionalism that can be expressed to a field employe
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the Electrical participant will be able to recognize some of the key elements in the
the highly skilled profession of Electrical work and service.
The Electrical participant will be able to better describe the skill and awareness of an Electrical Trades person. .
The Electrical participant could perform more efficiently with other Trades knowing when to cooperate with
nearby installations or other categories of systems.
Workmanlike is to have the knowledge and selection of the proper tools and steps to take when performing in a
safe manner when others are present.
Part 3: Conduct and Language for your Customers
Course Description
This course is intended to provide the Electrical Licensee participant / Business Permit Holder guidelines to interact with their Customer base. And to lessen the chances for misunderstandings in spoken communications. Proper conduct in actions while on service calls or installation projects with their customers. Examples of vague wording and how to better conduct oneself while with their customers Classroom participation with the Licensees trading places as Customers or as Business Permit Holders The goal is to further the Electrical Licensee professionalism that can be expressed to a lay person
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to recognize the conduct and more chosen language that
could lead to better Customer Relations and possibly reduce State Board offenses under NJAC 13:31.
The Licensee participant will be able to better explain the statement of a problem or an issue with installations or
service calls.
The Licensee participant can perform knowing the work once it has been better described to the Customer. As they
further explain that it has to conform under the Code or by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Once a better understanding is realized by the participant it can be passed down to their field employees or staff.
The Licensee participant will identify the shortcomings of not explaining something more thoroughly than
they had previously conducted with their business.
Instructor
Shawn Gianella is a former multi tradesman who owned his service and contracting business for close to 3
Decades. He was one of the youngest Electrical Inspectors in the State at the time. He started teaching in the 80’s
and 90’s part time in public and private VoTechs. He emphasized the proper training of new workers and
apprentices as a consultant for a trade publication in the early 90’s. He instructs with old timer solid methods in
keeping one’s mind open and not just as someone writing on how to improve business that never spent a day in the
