Understanding manual muscle testing is the first step in understanding and using Applied Kinesiology. This is a fundamental course that is directed specifically toward massage therapists. You will learn indicator muscles, how to identify certain patterns and how to implement muscle testing and AK into massage therapy routines.

Course will cover:

Basic Principals of Applied Kinesiology

  • Five factors of Intervertebral Foramen (IVF).
  • Indicator muscles—PMS-PMC, TFL-Gluteus Medius, Pectoralis Minor, and Hamstrings—and how to use them to detect all type of trigger points, Travell, Jones and Rolfing.

Lymphatic System

  • Anatomy and Physiology

Pincer Palpation to Determine Travell and Rolfing

Identification of Modular Skeletal Pattern of Pitch-Roll-Yaw

Implementation of Muscle Testing and AK Techniques into Massage Therapy

  • Travell trigger point

About the Instructor: Dr. Paul Sprieser, DC, DIBAK

Dr. Paul Sprieser has been a practicing chiropractor since 1969. In 1983, he became a Diplomate of the International College of Applied Kinesiology and since then, has been teaching healthcare and dental professionals (as well as veterinarians) about Applied Kinesiology and other topics.  For years, he often co-lectured with the founder of Applied Kinesiology, the late George Goodheart.

Dr. Sprieser has been involved in clinical research in the areas of AK, learning disabilities, TMJ dysfunction and general health problems for over 30 years. He has published over 75 papers and is awaiting publication of a book for the general public on Applied Kinesiology.
