Course Description:
This program will discuss the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, duration, and current treatment options of the Herpes Virus known as Shingles. Most of the time the only mention we hear about Shingles is a TV commercial about current vaccine options. This course will go into depth about the virus and how prevalent it really is. What do the symptoms look like, how to identify if someone has Shingles vs. other types of rashes. What are the prevention and treatment options? This program is a must for everyone to understand, properly assess and treat this virus.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, the participant should be able to:
- Explain the cause of the “Shingles” Herpetic Virus
- Identify what the virus looks like vs. other rashes or skin conditions
- Describe the duration of the virus
- Explain assessment techniques used
- Describe the prevention and treatment options for this virus
