This is an in-person course held at The Institute for Continuing Education in Fairfield.

The BodyBellMethod® is a common-sense approach to strength and fitness with longevity and progression in mind developed by Phil Ross, MS, RKC Master Kettlebell Trainer, Martial Arts Master, ACE CPT and Wellness and Exercise Professor. As a master trainer and educator in multiple disciplines, the methodology employed has been successfully applied to athletes of all levels, law enforcement and military personnel, and fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.

The BodyBellMethod® is comprised of movements derived from the Hardstyle Kettlebell protocol, long-standing Calisthenics and the lost art of Dynamic Tension. This minimalist approach to fitness uses only kettlebells, the body’s own resistance, a jump rope, dowel, pull-up bar, dip station and an ab wheel. The success of the method is  based on the knowledge of the trainer and application of sound, succinct movement and the application of periodization while addressing the Five Areas of Fitness: Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Cardiovascular Endurance, Body Composition and Flexibility/Mobility. The various movements and training protocols employed are based on upper and lower body push and pull, carries, single leg, harnessing explosive power and rotational movement.

This is a minimalist’s approach to strength and fitness using very few tools but it yields great results. Our fitness tools are our own bodyweight, kettlebells, pull-up bars, dip stations, ab wheel, a jump rope and a dowel. We will occasionally use a towel or the Neuro-Grip push-up tool. The equipment is limited but the results are unmatched.

Each Certification will be conducted in 8 hours. There will be an exit test to pass and workout/class programming.

The BodyBell Method is the most comprehensive Kettlebell, Calisthenics and Dynamic Tension Certification available that is based on the Minimalist Methodology of strength, health and fitness.

Who is the BBM for?

Physical Therapists: 8 hours of CE credits are earned as you become certified in the methodology that will help you to take your patients’ recovery to the next level.*

Chiropractors: Earn up to 9 CE credits as you become certified in this methodology for improving your patients’ health.*

Personal Trainers and Group Instructors: Learn as you earn! Our system is immediately transferable to your current client population. Learn the movements, gain access to the system and establish yourself as the expert. We also have a hierarchy and path to advancement in the system.*

Fitness Enthusiasts: Learn our system and learn the tools for you to be strong and fit for life. Simple, effective and unmatched. Very little equipment is required.

Students are asked to bring: plenty of water or sports drinks, snacks if they wish, a towel, a jump rope, a notebook and pen, zero-grade low-profile shoes (or go barefoot). They should also dress comfortably. Students will receive a manual electronically after the class.

*CE APPROVALS: The BodyBell Method has been approved by the NJ Board of Physical Therapy for continuing education credits, Approval # 2411-80, Sponsor: The BodyBell Method. For NJ chiropractors, the course is approved for 9 CEUs by the NJ Board of Chiropractic Examiners because The Institute for Continuing Education is an Approved Provider/Sponsor through 8/31/27.  The Institute for Continuing Education is also recognized by the PACE Program of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB); chiropractors from states that accept PACE may earn 8 CEUs for this course.

The course also carries CECs for ACE, NASM, SWC and AFAA.

About the instructor, Philip G. Ross III, MS – aka Master Phil, The Kettlebell King

Phil Ross is a Professor, Presenter, Publisher Author, Actor, 9th Degree Black Belt, Master Kettlebell Instructor, Master Blade Wielder, Masters in Sports and Exercise Science, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and Bodyweight Specialist.

A lifelong combat athlete and fitness pundit, he has competed on the National Level in Submission Fighting, Kickboxing, Full Contact Karate, Taekwondo, Olympic Style Wrestling and has garnered titles in bodybuilding and powerlifting.
