Course Description:

This course will go over the signs and symptoms of the disease, diagnostic testing, treatment options, risk factors, prevention and follow up treatment.

What is Prostate Cancer? What is Brachytherapy? Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind lung cancer. About 1 man in 41 will die of prostate cancer.  About 1 man in 9 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.

Course Objectives:  

  1. Explain what is Brachytherapy
  2. Identify signs and symptoms
  3. Explain treatment options
  4. Discuss risk factors associated with treatments
  5. Identify prevention techniques
  6. Discuss follow up treatment
