This course is approved by the NJ Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, approval code #2103-72. Objective: This program will explain the philosophy behind Myofascial Trigger Point Release. The student will be able to identify and perform a variety of techniques and understand how to incorporate these techniques into practice. This course will include instruction on how to use foam rollers and to perform self myofascial techniques using a small ball.
Upon completion of this program the participant will be able to:
*Explain the techniques associated with Myofascial Trigger Point Release
*Explain how to incorporate these practices into treatment plans
*Identify patients who will benefit from this technique
*Identify patients who will not benefit from this technique
*Describe a variety of techniques available and how they are performed
*Perform myofascial trigger point release techniques
