(Pre-requisite, completion of Kinesio University approved KT1, KT2, and KT3 courses)

Seminar Description:

The Specialty Lymphatic Concepts of the Kinesio Taping® Method course will address Kinesio Taping Methods for lymphatic and circulatory conditions of the upper and lower extremities through lab and lecture format. It will also address Kinesio Taping® Methods for improving breathing, constipation, muscle and posture issues, and other conditions that affect the lymphatic function. Advanced fascial and scar management methods to improve lymphatic flow will be addressed. Advanced swelling management for the initial, collector, and deep lymphatics will also be discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to practice innovative Kinesio Taping® Methods.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, attendees will be able to:
• Describe advanced lymphatic drainage concepts and theories.
• Demonstrate Kinesio Taping® application to relax and stimulate muscles for lymph drainage.
• Demonstrate Kinesio Taping® application for constipation and breathing for deep lymphatic drainage.
• Demonstrate Kinesio Taping® application for posture correction to encourage deep and superficial lymphatic drainage.
• Demonstrate Kinesio Taping® application advanced application on scar tissue to open lymphatic pathways.
• Demonstrate Kinesio Taping® application for fascia conditions that affect superficial and deep lymphatic drainage.
• Demonstrate Kinesio Taping® application for superficial, collector, and deep lymphatic conditions.

CONTINUING ED CREDITS:

8 CEUs – Massage Therapists, Occupational Therapists (AOTA),  NJ Chiropractors, NJ Physical Therapists.  See special info about Athletic Trainers.

Special Information for Athletic Trainers:

As of 1/1/16, the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers stopped preapproving continuing education credits for Kinesio Taping classes because they apply to only one brand of products. The Kinesio Taping Association is however, a Non-Approved CEU provider through Category D. According to the Kinesio Taping Association, Athletic Trainers who attend Kinesio Taping classes will receive proof of attendance and a certificate that can be used to self-submit for CEUs through the BOC. One contact hour of a Kinesio Taping seminar is equal to 1 CEU, i.e. KT1&2 would be 16 CEUs. Athletic trainers may want to check with the BOC before taking KT courses.

Seminar Prerequisites:

Completion of approved Kinesio Taping® Clinical Concepts (KT3) or Kinesio Taping Advanced Techniques and Clinical Reasoning.

In order to attend a Kinesio Taping® seminar, each attendee must meet all of the following criteria:
